For lunch we went to an Australian Restaurant called kakadu hehe. I had a meal named “Kangaroo Island” which as pretty kool. It was a really nice kangaroo steak:)
We checked in at 2pm and got our room and I think we went basically straight to bed to have a nap. we had been looking forward to it all day haha. SO yeah firday wasnt heaps eventful, well neither was most of the weekend haha but hey it was still a nice weekend.
Saturday morning we got up and had our free brekkie and checked emails and that on the free wifi internet the hostel had available. We went to do our washing at a laundromat, and there a guy gave us some directions of places to go and a wicked place to eat. I had a mixed grill and alec had a schnitzel with ham and cheese. we both got an apple cider.
we posted some postcards. and we walked around some more of the city.... we went up the top of the main tower and saw the city from up there. we werent feeling very well either of us this afternoon so that kind of put a dampner on going out.
I woke up on sunday morning with a cold!!! it's summer... and I dont usually get sick with a runny nose and seee it's never happened before. but anyways we kept going and decided to go to the Frankfurt Zoo. spent a few hours walking around there, had lunch in the zoo and then we caught the subway back to the city. we werent going to walk back haha it was a lil further than we had thought. All the shops on a sunday are closed in frankfurt we couldnt believe it lol.
well it was our last afternoon in Frankfurt so we had to go into a Sex shop haha, they were everywhere! they are pretty kool too. they arent all dark and dingy like image is in australia. Fo r tea that night we went to a chinese restaurant, it was really nice food. but we ordered as if we were at “taste of spice” on rundle street, where like you order a couple of meals and share, well we ordered 3 dishes and sum noodles to share all between us... they came out and ONE would have been plenty for both of us, we felt like pigs haha was really funny. Nice food though! lol o well, I also tried a bitburger beer pretty nice!!
Well it was our last morning in the hostel (Monday morning) and it was about 330am and some drunk people that were staying in out room came home and made a hell of a lot of noise and disturbance was really really annoying, neither of us could get back to sleep after they came in. other than that our hostel experience in frankfurt was awsome! but anyways we were up at 5 am that day anyway to head to the airport to meet up with mum. So we caught the subway to the airport and then lined up for abour an hour at Air Canada Check in, so slow!!!
After we got our tickets went to go clear passport control which was fine, and then had to clear security. It tooooook forever, they only had 2 lanes going for our section and we were there forever waiting. But anywya we eventualy made it to mum who had been waiting at the gate for ages! she was starting to worry about where we were. that day just prooves why the airlines always say you need to be checking in at least 2 hous before your flight. I think the states is going to be even worse, they recommend 3 hours before the flight.
So we were on our way to Montreal, Canada before long! We arrived in montereal and then we were on our way to Moncton, where um's family is mostly.
Well that's our Germany experience, No that was our Frankfrut experience because we weren't heaps impressed with Frankfurt, but I think germany would be great if we vistited other places and bigger and better cities! So hope all is well with you guys. and will put up another post soon!
