MONTREAL!
Top of Mount Tremble
Mount Tremble Ski Resort
Well we arrived on Thursday night, with Micheline and Marie-Claire to greet us. They took us back to their house and we had a really nice BBQ of chicken (everything that goes on a BBQ here seems to get rapped in foil, not just at their house:) but everywhere else we had a bbq also and also the BBQ's here are only Grills, not like “normal, australian” ones) haha. Although all the food we have had was really really yummy, its just not the same lol, so we are hanging out for that real aussie BBQ taste. We met Marie-Claire's dog, maggie, realy cute and fun to play with! We just relxed and watched TV down in the basement were we were sleeping! Basements are so kool, we both want one in our house when we get to build one lol.
The next day (friday) Alec got up at 7 and watched TV and I got up at a lil later having a nice sleep in. We went shopping in the City with Micheline. Went to the underground shopping malls which go through and under most of the city. This is where most of there shops are. Its quite kool because as we discovered on the saturday when its raining its nice to be all enclosed and not have to go out. Although under there it is heaps easy to go lost (NOT THAT WE DID):P hehe. You can go down in one part of the city and then come up in a completely different spot without relising how far you have actualy got.
That afternoon we went to the IMAX and saw Harry Potter in 3D. There we were walking in a lil late as the movie was about to start and so we put on our 3D glasses. after about 5 minsutes into the movie we both started playing with the glasses taking them off and moving them back down trying to see if it actualy made any difference. Other than making the screen a lil less bright didnt seem to be doing anything, but we thought we would leave them on just incase haha. Then nearly at the end of the movie a lil green flashing picture came up on the screen indicating to put on the glasses. so we had left them on the whole movie for no reason lol. but o well. the 3D effects they did were quite good. But besides it being 3D it was just really nice to see it all on such a large screen! We walked back out into the foyer to wait for Micheline to pick us up and while we were waiting we thought we would look at the Harry Potter poster and since we were right up close we noticed that in the top left corner there was a tiny little piece of writing saying that it was only the final battle that was in 3D!!!
That night, Micheline and marie-Claire thought it would be nice to take us to the best Hambuger joint in the City. We were wondering how good a hamburger can be... I mean come on it's a Hamburger, not the most fancy food in the world... tho when we got there we had to line up on the street just to get a table, we were waiting about half an hour before we got a table... so we were starting to think that maybe they were pretty good! :) One of the waiters were pretty hot lol... Alec was being silly and writing (with the kiddy's colouring crayons) on my placemat saying “Call me ur hot and then a telephone number” lol. But then it didnt matter because Micheline said that the waiters probably didnt read english as we were in a French part of Canada. After dinner we went to get ice cream! It took us about half hour to find it as most of the places were closed. but we did eventually get to one that was open. and it was goooooood!!!! We went back about 3 times over the weekend hehe.
On saturday we were going to go rafting down the river in Montreal, but it was pretty cold and cloudy so we decided against that and wetn shopping again. we bought a load of clothes from The Baie, its just like Myers except twice as good. but yeah we each bought jackets, t-shirts, jeans and underwear (hot stuff too);) (but not kinky if your reading this mum)lol. That night Micheline had booked us a Hotel room in Down town, (near the gay village) which was really cool. so we checked in there at about 330 and took all our stuff into the room. For tea that night we met up with My Unlce Claud, his three daughters(my cousins:), Marie-Anne, Courine, Annie-Claude), Brian (Marie-Anne's boy friend), Diane, Diane's apartment mate, Marie-Claire and Micheline. We went to a greek style restaurant, the food was yummy, Alec got Grilled Chicken breast with a butter sauce and I(Jai) got a Prawn and Chicken Shazelick! After the farwell's and lots of photo's (My Auntie's took them so I've asked them to email them and I'll add them when I get them) Micheline and Marie-Claire took us to the bottle shop and we got some drinks... and then took us for a quick drive down St-Catherine Street to point out the clubs to us and then dropped us back at the hotel. We drank some drinks and hung around watching TV for a lil while until it got to 11pm, time to go out.
We went to a club called Unity, it was three story's high and each level had differne tkinds of Music. ordered some drinks, which were soooo good, we got flavours of schmirnoff that we can get in australia (we know we think we are repeating this but we have no internet at the moment so cant check what is already up on the site so we'l just keep typing away) there is green apple, melon, and a kool berry one. they are a stronger percentage of alcohol than in australia here too which was helpful ;)... so we didnt need to buy as many... lol. And there were no double blacks :(. We danced on level 2 with all the popular music... JT came on... oh and a wicked remix of Grace Kelly by Mika, that was kool, and Timerlands new song which we think is really kool (we just put it on then to listen to it haha). In the dance floor I(Jai) lost my ID, it must have ridin out my pocket, so there we were retracing our steps over the club, just when we had givin up(it was only my drivers license) we went back up to Leve 2 to go dance, and there it was still on the floor haha, so that was lucky! At about 230 we went out the club and for walk down the street. But everything closes at 3 apparently so it was pretty quiet. We went to McDonalds, Alec want chicken nuggets (like a small cicken niggets) but literaly got three nuggets paid for seperatly in a bag lol. Because they couldnt understand english very well and his accent would have made it a lil hard too. so that was funny and we both left hungry cause I was going to pinch some nuggets but i(Jai) only got one.lol.
We slept in the next morning (sunday) and got picked up at abot 12 by micheline. We went out for breakfast along St-Catherine street. We had croisants, served a hot waiter;) hehe, they were choc filled ones too. We had orange juice so it was a very healthy breakfast :P lol... NOT. yummy tho. We then went to the Olympic Stadium. and the Bio-dome. (The pics are in another post:) ). Tho we were all that enthusiastic today nor very awake, but everyone knows wat that is like, we had a nice day all in all tho, the bio-dome was cool. We went to Mount Royal in the afternoon as well, (Ice cream on the way home too) haha. Once we got home we basically went straight down stairs and had a nap. Once we woke at about 7, Mean girls and Nemo were on and we had Onion soup and Chicken pie for tea, they were really good. I(Jai) had maple syrup pie, now that was a really nice dessert, I'm going to make some when I get back to australia!!!! We had an early night that night.
The next day (Monday) Diane picked us up from Micheline's and took us up north to Mount Tremblant (Tremble). It took us about 3 hours driving to get up there. nce we were there we had a walk around, its basically totally a Ski-Resort, very nice very expensive place. We had lunch at a cafe called “Fat Tuesday” Well thats what it transalted too anyway. Alec had a chicken sandwich, which was amazing! Jai had a grilled chicken breast with goats cheese and citrus chutney as a topping, that was sooooo good, again I'm going to try and Make it when i'm back in australia and it came with sweet potatoe hot chips they were soooo good too. After lunch we caught the ski lift up the the top of the mountain, therre were some really nice views from the trip up and also from the top of the mountain. We climbed up a look out at the top and took lots of photos. was a bit of a hike up to the lok out but was worth it! It wasnt that far but still lol. On the way down Jai thought he saw a man chasing a bear! LOL, but it turned out to just be a big shaggy dog, a cute one at that... Once we got to Montreal again we went quicky to Diane's apartment and then we went out for tea in China town and met up with Micheline after she finnished work. Once we got home we spent a couple fo hours repacking everything, I(Jai) had to buy a new suit case over the weekend and the wheels got broken off and i dont think it would have survived another flight... we did some washing at that sort of stuff....
The next day was an early one, we had our flight to Toronto at 730am and so we got up at about 5am. Micheline took us to the airport. Once we got up the Air Canada check in, we were told that our luggage was over weight. The stupid mean women behind the counter made us pay 35 dollars each because it went over 23kgs. we then find out later along the way that the staff should normally let it go because we have the international tickets and we had specifically asked our travel agent what the limits were and she said 32 kgs. and 2 bags making it 64kgs total, but no. 23 each it is. o well we sorted that out in Toronto at The Bay and bought ourselves each a sports bag to spread out the weight. After that it was fine and got on the plane and had a nice flight.
